Bauernbrot is an old German farmer’s bread.  It is a hearty bread that is known in German homes, traditionally made from scratch baked in age-old wood-fired ovens.  Although we do not have wood-fired ovens in the bakery we do have a deck oven heated on top and bottom giving our breads the perfect crust.
